Obituary for Col. (Ret.) Ramon Broerman
Col. (Ret.) Ramon Karl Broerman, age 80, slipped the surly bonds of earth on November 19, 2018, in Ridgeland, Mississippi. He now dances the skies on laughter‐silvered wings and touches the face of God.
He was born on December 20, 1937, in Bloomington, Indiana and graduated from high school in Evansville, Indiana which is where he met the love of his life, Peggy. Ramon was a dedicated and devoted husband, an amazing father and served his country in both the Navy and the Air Force for a total of 32 years. He adored and cherished his wife of 59 years and instilled in his children a love of country and a strong sense of ethics and morals.Ramon joined the United States Navy (USN) in 1955 and served for 4 years. After separating from the USN, he enlisted in the United States Air Force (USAF) where he attended and graduated from Office Candidate School. Ramon was awarded numerous medals and commendations during his USAF career. Ramon retired from the USAF in 1988 and moved to Mississippi to begin a career with Beech Aerospace/Raytheon (now known as Vertex Aerospace). He retired Beech Aerospace/Raytheon and devoted his time to his wife and the church.
Ramon was also member of the Kentucky Colonels and a 50‐year member of the Masonic Temple. Heattended St. Columb’s Episcopal Church where he was an active member until his health declined.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” A. Broerman. He is also survived by two sons; Scott (Marty)of Annapolis, Maryland, Kevin (Carol) of Scottsdale, Arizona, and one daughter Megan (Tommy) of Ridgeland, Mississippi, as well as eleven grandchildren, Kristina, William, Jessica, Sarah, Cate, Annalise,Kellyn, Reenie, Karoline, Charlie and Benjamin. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond F.Broerman and Etta Sue (Kerr) Weddle.
A funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Columb’s Episcopal Church, 500 Sunnybrook Road, Ridgeland, Mississippi with a reception to follow at the same location. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ramon’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, Mississippi Animal Rescue League or the charity or ministry of your choice.
