SARAH DEATON BOYKIN


Sarah Deaton Boykin passed away on Thursday, October 19, 2017. She was 84.

A native of Hollandale, Mississippi, she was born April 30, 1933 to the late G.E. and Eva Elizabeth Horton Deaton. She was a former resident of Anguilla where she worked at Bank of Anguilla for 15 years. She had been a resident of Madison for many years, retiring from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History with over 15 years of service. She was a member of Madison United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Margaret Katrina Boykin, in 1986.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, T.D. (Sonny) Boykin, Jr., of Brandon; daughter, Kathy Martin (Jerry), of Anguilla; son, Tommy Boykin (Tammy), of Brandon; six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Madison United Methodist Church, 100 Post Oak Rd., Madison, MS 39110 where the Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Barry Male, Jr., Pastor, and Reverend Kelly Pope officiating. Private Inurnment for family will be held at Natchez Trace Memorial Park Columbarium in Madison.

In lieu of usual remembrances, the family requests memorials be made to a charity of your choice.
