Obituary for Thelma Bell
Thelma Josephine “Jo” Bell, 75, was called to her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 29, 2017. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2017 from 7:00pm-9:00pm and again on Wednesday, October 4th, 2017 at 10:00am until the Funeral Service at 11:00am, all at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS. Brother John Patterson to officiate. Interment will immediately follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Clinton, MS.

Thelma was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 5th, 1942 and lived most of her life in Baltimore, Maryland until she retired in 2010 and moved to Gluckstadt, MS. She was married to her devoted husband, John for 47 years. She attended Colonial Heights Baptist Church and will be remembered for her inner strength, kindness and unconditional love.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Edna DeVoux, and her sisters, her son, Jorge C. Diaz and her grandson, Thomas A. (Tad) Diaz.

She is survived by her husband, John Bell, Jr. of Gluckstadt, MS; her son, Michael A. Diaz (Janet) of Madison, MS; her daughter-in-law, Alyce Diaz of Logan, WV; her granddaughter, Nikki Shue (Billy) of Brandon, MS, her grandson, Michael Diaz, Jr. (Yvonne Shagene) of Port Huron, MI, her granddaughter, Carrie Chadic of Ridgeland, MS, her seven great-grandchildren, Haley and Hayden of Brandon, MS, Harmony and Sabrina Shagene and Kaylee, Brandon and Lilly Diaz of Port Huron, MI along with numerous friends.

Thelma’s family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Baptist Hospital PCU and AICU units, as well as, Dr. Todd Lawson and Dr. Maria Rappai.
