Obituary for Hugh Donald (Don) West
Hugh Donald (Don) West Jackson
Hugh Donald (Don) West, 81, died, May 19th, 2022, at home surrounded by his wife and sister. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. May 22 at 2:00 p.m. at Briarwood Presbyterian Church in Jackson. A visitation will be held between 3:00 p.m and 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the church. A graveside service will follow at Strong River Cemetery near Pinola, Mississippi.
He was born on June 9, 1940, in Colorado, to the late Raymond Tucker and Martha Gunn West.
Mr. West grew up in the Philippines while his father was serving in the Air Force. He graduated From Brent International High School in Baguio, Philippines. He served in the US Army and graduated from the University of Mississippi. He began working as a collector for the Internal Revenue Service after college, during this time Mr. West earned his Master's Degree from Mississippi College. He continued hies career with the IRS, retiring as a Personnel Administrator
He is survived by his spouse, Patricia Ann Farmer West (Hugh) of Jackson, MS; one sister, Nancy West Stacy (Jack) of Pontotoc ;niece, Michelle Whitmon (Allen) of Moorville, MS, niece, Mindy Church (Rob) of Croswell, MI; nephew, T.J. Roberts (Melissa) of New Albany; niece, Kristy Crawford (Cecil) of Shannon, MS ;niece, Karen Vaughan (David) of Houston; nephew, John Vaughan (Elizabeth) of Okalona, MS; nephew ,Randy West (Kathy) of Fulton, MS; nephew, David West (Marcie) of Starkville, MS; nephew, Patrick West (Carla ) Fulton, MS.
He is preceded in death by sister Ann Vaughan (Tucker) and brother, Mickey West (Betty).
