Obituary for James "Jim" Isaac Langley, Sr.
James “Jim” Isaac Langley, Sr., 69, of Madison, MS peacefully passed away on September 8, 2021. Jim was born in Batesville, MS February 13, 1952 to the late William “Dub” Clayton Langley and Myra Kathryn Mabry Langley. Jim’s home place is in McCool, MS where he loved being either in the creek or in the woods. He enjoyed being in the quiet, serene outdoors. Jim was a graduate of Ethel High School and Holmes Junior College where he attended on a football scholarship. He then graduated from Mississippi State University with a degree in Industrial Education (he was six hours shy of completing his master’s degree). Jim was a proud business owner of Langley’s Remodeling, Inc. for over 35 years, and in the construction industry for more than 50 years. He loved working with his hands. Jim loved everything hunting and fishing, and collected walking canes from various places around the world. He spent the last 40 years of his life living around the Jackson area, most recently 25 years in Madison. Jim is survived by his wife, Martha Jean Sumrall Langley of Madison, MS; his son, James “Ike” Isaac Langley, Jr. of Starkville, MS; his daughter, Hannah Langley Almeida (Lucas) of St. Peters, MO; his daughter Margaret “Leigh” Alisa Pritchard Dailey (Randy) of Columbus, MS; his grandchildren, Ember Clae Langley, Rogan Slade Langley, James Madden Rocco Langley, Hazel Elizabeth Almeida, Alisa Stanford Boykin, Casey Dailey Hunley, Brandy Dailey Mahan; and eight great grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Sebrell Funeral Home, 425 Northpark Dr., Ridgeland, MS. Visitation begins at 2:00pm with funeral service following at 3:00pm A graveside service will immediately follow at Natchez Trace Cemetery, 759 Hwy 51, Madison, MS 39110. Jim wanted everyone to know that he was a true believer in Jesus Christ, Son of God. He was a faithful friend to many, a loving father and husband, and always believed you needed to “choose your friends carefully”. The Langley family would like for memorials to be made to The Palmer Home in Starkville, MS, Celebrate Recovery, and French Camp Academy in French Camp, MS, The American Cancer Society, and National Kidney Foundation.
