Obituary for Billye Jean Henry
Mrs. Billye Jean Henry, 68, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30p.m. Sunday, July 16th, 2017, at Christ the Rock Apostolic Church, 352 Highway 30 East, Oxford, Mississippi.
Mrs. Henry lived with her husband for over 30 years in Batesville, Mississippi. She and Lawayne relocated to Water Valley, Mississippi over 17 years ago. She was a true and faithful member of Christ the Rock Apostolic Church in Oxford, Mississippi. More than anything, she most enjoyed attending church and spending time sharing the gospel with everyone. She took her tape recorder to church services and recorded the ministers who preached. She then made copies and gave them out to others to spread the word of the Lord. She wanted the blessings to touch the recipients of those messages. She was a fabulous cook and even had a special ingredient for her cooking. In her kitchen was a special shaker with the word “Love.” When she would prepare these delicious meals, in addition to salt and pepper, she would add a dash of Love to make the dinner complete.
Billye is preceded in death by her parents, Ray Posey and Billye Maxine Spacey. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lawayne Henry of Water Valley, MS; son, Bill Henry and his wife, Janeen of Water Valley, MS; daughter, Michelle Jones and husband, David of Hernando, MS; sister, Bonnie Simmerman of Batesville, MS; 4 grandchildren, Angie, T.J., Madison and Abigail; and 4 great grandchildren, Segan & Bailey Prince and Dalton & Piper Barton; she also leaves to cherish her memory all of her church family and friends.
