Obituary for James Mark Null
James Mark Null passed away Friday, June 4, 2021, at home. Visitation will be Monday, June 7th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sebrell Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 8th at Braxton Cemetery. He was 61 years old. However, he often reminded everyone around him that he was only 15 because he was born on February 29th, leap day. Mark was born February 29, 1960 in Jackson, MS and spent much of his childhood in Pearl and Bassfield, MS. He graduated from USM with a Bachelor’s in Business and Finance. He began working as a mechanic for East Ford, and then Fowler Buick and Valvoline, before retiring in 2014. While he enjoyed fishing and was an avid gardener, Mark’s greatest love in his retirement was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, James W. Null. He is survived by his wife, Karen Denise Null; his daughters, Annielyn (Patrick) Buckner, Amber (Matthew) Hajj, Katie (Austin) Townsend; mother, Janet George; brother, Kelly Null; as well as 7 grandchildren and many other extended family members. Mark was very much loved by every member of his family. His sense of humor brought many laughs and some tears of joy to everyone he met. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
