Obituary for Spencer Rivers Ratcliff
Spencer Rivers Ratcliff, of Madison, Mississippi passed away Sunday February 21, 2021. Spencer was born March 28, 1991 to Steve and Holly Ratcliff. He graduated from Jackson Academy and Mississippi State University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Spencer was employed with the Rusty Healy Agency in Madison and was truly indebted to Rusty, Landon and the staff for their support and love.
Spencer was an avid outdoorsman, hunter and fisherman. He frequently said that he felt closer to God watching the sun come up in the woods more than anywhere else. He had an infectious smile and could make anyone laugh even on their worst day. Spencer loved spending time with his nephews and cousins and adored his miniature Australian Shephard Dixie more than anything.
Spencer is survived by his parents, Steve and Holly Ratcliff; his sister and brother-in-law Stephanie and Wesley Johnson; his nephews Jacob and Luke Johnson; paternal grandparents Smiley and Tita Ratcliff; maternal grandparents Ralph and Betty Rivers; aunts, uncles and many cousins.
A visitation and memorial celebrating Spencer’s life will be held at the Livingston Chapel courtyard located at 116 Livingston Church Road, Flora, MS 39071 on Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 1-3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hosemann Family Autism Foundation supporting scholarships for students pursuing careers in Applied Behavior Analysis through the Mississippi State University College of Education.
