Obituary for William Rex Pope
William Rex Pope, 72, died Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the VA Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, September, 7, 2021 at Briarhill Baptist Church with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. A family graveside will follow at Crestview Memorial Gardens where Military Honors will be rendered.
Mr. Pope was born on August 3, 1949, in Tylertown, to the late John and Florine Pope. He served his county with honor and distinction as a member of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Mr. Pope worked as an HVAC and Refrigeration Tech.
He is preceded in death by his wife Amber Pope.
He will be most remembered a beloved father and a cherished and devoted grandfather
Survivors include son, William Edward Pope of Brandon; son, Michael John Pope of Richland; son, Robert David Pope of Brandon; daughter, Tonya Sprinkle and husband William Joseph Sprinkle of Brandon; son, Kevin Evon Pope and wife Karrie of Yazoo City; grandchildren, Selena Renee Sharp of Richland; Blake Austin Hart of Brandon; Elijah Maurice Pope of Bogalusa, LA; Josh Dillon Pope of Bogalusa, LA and Lucas John Pope of Richland.
