William Leon (Lonnie) Chance, a resident of Crystal Springs, died June 15, 2022. He was 75 years old. Lonnie was born July, 24, 1946 in Hinds County.
He served his country in the Navy 1963-1966 on the USS Goodrich. He retired, at 46, from the State of Mississippi as a Senior land appraiser. He was a volunteer Deputy Sheriff (C-35) for the Copiah County Sheriff’s office for several years.
He loved outdoor sports, fishing and deer hunting. He never meet a stranger, always providing entertainment telling stories of his life experiences. He will never be forgotten by anyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Morgan Chance and Dorothy Marie Hill Chance.
He is survived by his longtime life partner, Betty Killebrew and his Sister, Diana Chance Turbville (Kenneth). Also cousins and many friends.
He was a member of Porters Chapel Methodist Church in Vicksburg. He grew up in Vicksburg going to school at Jett High School.
