In Memoriam: William Douglas Walters (December 9, 1969 - January 19, 2024)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved husband, father, brother,

uncle, and friend, William Douglas Walters. Born December 9, 1969, Doug lived a life defined by

his unwavering faith and the love for his family and friends.

After attending Forest Hill High School and Hinds Community College, Doug answered the call to

serve in the United States Army, embodying the principles of honor, duty, and sacrifice. Doug's

dedication to his country was a testament to his character and sense of duty.

A master electrician by trade, Doug's skills and expertise illuminated not only the spaces he

worked in but also the lives of those around him. His commitment to excellence in his craft was

matched only by his dedication to his family, church, and community.

A devoted Deacon in his church, Doug's faith was a guiding force in his life. He led by example,

demonstrating compassion, kindness, and a steadfast belief in the power of love. His service

extended beyond the walls of the church, touching the lives of all who had the privilege of

knowing him.

Despite facing a long battle with cancer, Doug's spirit remained unbroken. His resilience and

strength inspired everyone around him, and he continued to be a pillar of support for his

family. Even in the face of adversity, Doug's love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his family

and friends never wavered.

Doug Walters leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service. His memory will forever live on

in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to be touched by his

warmth and generosity.

Doug is preceded in death by his grandparents, J.D Douglas, George William Walters, and Ethel

Mae Morgan. He leaves behind his wife, Kristen, and their three sons, Cameron, Colin and

Tucker, his parents, Gary and Joan Walters, grandmother, Louise Douglas, and siblings: Daniel

(Stephanie) Walters, Jill (Mitch) Evans, and Jacob Walters, in-laws, Al and Nan LaValley, as well

as nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Doug's life will be held on January 23, 2024, at Highlands Presbyterian Church

in Madison, MS. Visitation will be at 12:30 p.m. with service at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the

family requests donations be made to Hope Lodge in New Orleans, LA or Neuroendocrine
