Obituary for William Clele "Buddy" Walley
William Clele (Buddy) Walley, of Alvin, Texas passed away on September 3, 2020 at Clearlake Regional Medical Center in Webster, Texas. A visitation will be held at Utica Baptist Church on September 8, 2020 from 9:00 to 10:30 with a graveside service to follow at Utica Cemetery beginning at 11:00. We are asking everyone to follow CDC COVID-19 guidelines. Social distancing and masks will be required. William, who was known by many as Buddy, was born on January 20, 1948 in SoSo, MS to Mike and Elberta Walley. On July 26, 1969 he married the love of his life Lindell Marie Rutland in Vicksburg, MS. He worked at Cooper Lighting where he retired in 1999. In 2014 they moved to Alvin, Texas to be closer to their children and grandchildren. He was a member of SouthPark Baptist Church and was honored to be a volunteer with The Well Food Pantry in Manvel, Texas. He also worked with The Beach Club, an after school children’s program. Prior to moving to Texas he was a member of the Utica Baptist Church for over 40 years, a former member of the Utica Masonic Lodge Number 98, and a former Shriner. William is preceded in death by his parents Mike and Elberta Walley, his brother Clemon Walley and sisters Erma Lee Hinton and Gerthie Lee Williams and brothers in law Richard Williams and Marvin Moak. He is survived by his wife Lindell Walley and children Dawn Patrick, William Stacey Walley and daughter in law Jennifer Walley along with 2 grandchildren, William Hunter Walley and Samantha Walley. He is also survived by his sisters Etta Faye Pierce (Robert) and Faye Etta Andress (Bobby), and a brother Calvin Walley (Sandy); brothers in law Willard Hinton and Donald Rutland (Jerry), sisters in law Delores Walley and Dottie Moak, along with a numerous amount of nieces, nephews and friends he greatly loved. Pallbearers will be Hunter Walley, Randy Walley, Robert Andress Jr., Marvin Earl Moak, Pete Moak, Ernest Woodward, Tyler Moak, and Tanner Moak. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Utica Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers the family is asking that you give a donation to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, St. Jude or The Well Food Pantry.
