Obituary for William 'Billy' C. Kinstley
A memorial service will be held at St. Philip's Episcopal Church at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 20, 2022 for well known floral designer Billy Kinstley. Billy died April 15, 2022 at his home.
Born September 5, 1957, Billy discovered his talent and love of flowers at an early age which lead him to a successful career in floral design including 25 years associated with Green Oak Flowers. Prior to that he established Village Flowers in Highland Village. Many people throughout central Mississippi sought him out for his party and wedding designs. His work was recognized by the awards he received including Allied Christmas Designer of the Year 1984, 1986 and 1989; and Atlanta Florist Designer of the Year in 1982.
He is survived by his partner Billy Ray Sign; his mother, Louise Carroll; stepmother Evelyn Kinstley; stepchildren, Will Sigh and his wife Lauren, Rachel Wooten and husband Jacob, Tucker Sigh and girlfriend Presley Becker; step grandson, William Whitman Sigh; sister, Lisa Carney and husband Tye, and brother Dee Miller and wife Donna; stepsisters, Cindy Mabry and husband Bob, and Weezie Horn; stepbrother, Dwayne Treast and wife Susan; plus numerous nieces and nephews. Billy is predeceased by his father, William Carl Kinstley Sr.; stepfather, Carl Carroll; stepsisters, Deborah Taylor and Dianne Brown; and stepbrother, Eddie Treast.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials may be made to St. Philips Episcopal Church Flower Guild, 5400 Old Canton Road, Jackson, MS 39211
