Obituary for William Ray Brooks
William Ray Brooks, 70, died Sunday, January 21, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at First Baptist Church in Richland. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the church. Mr. Brooks was born on June 4, 1947, in Jackson, the son of EJ and Maggie Brooks and attended Mississippi State University. He worked for 28 years for Neel/Schaffer Engineering as a Survey Supervisor, then Construction Inspector and also with various other contractors. Mr. Brooks enjoyed fishing with his best friend and brother, James. He is preceded in death by Mama Brooks, Laura Nell Brooks and grandson, Kooper Bain. Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Sandra of Richland; sons, Bill Brooks, Keith Bain (Tara), and Rusty Bain (Kristin) grandchildren, Scarlett Brooks, Jessica Sanders (Michael,) Brittanie Miller (Jonathan), Destiny Byrd (Nick), Julia Bain, Kennedy Bain, great grandchildren, Haylee Sanders, Bentley Sanders and brother, James Brooks (Phyllis).
