Obituary for William James Ward

William “Will” James Ward died at his home in Brandon, Mississippi on Sunday, September 18, 2022 at

the age of 34.

Will was born on March 18, 1988 in Rochester, New York to James Byron Ward and Stella Gervin-Ward,

and moved to Brandon, Mississippi when he was 3 years old. He loved fishing and being a dad. Will was

also talented in construction and as a tradesman and loved building trampoline parks all over the United

States. He was known for his good sense of humor and extremely sharp mind. He will be affectionately

remembered as “I William,” the name he would proudly give himself as a little boy.

Will is survived by his parents, Stella and James, and step-mother, Betty M. Ward; children, Kolton Ward

and Elizabeth Ward; older brother, Robert Mitchell Ward; nephew, Camden Mitchell Ward;

grandmother, Betty Clement-Ward; aunt, Mary Lawrence Gervin; and dog, Mary “Maddie” Magdalene.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Robert Gervin of Brandon and John Ward of

Rochester, New York.

Will’s memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at St. Peter’s by the

Lake in Brandon, Mississippi, with a reception to follow at the church Parish Hall. The Rev. Carol Mead

will officiate the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Community Animal Rescue and

Adoption where he adopted his beloved Maddie. Please mail donations to P.O. Box 231, Clinton,

Mississippi 39060. The family would like to thank Sebrell Funeral Home and St. Peter’s by the Lake for

their generous assistance during this difficult time.
