Wayne Scott Sandifer, 72, passed away September 16, 2023, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. A funeral service will be Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with graveside services following in Jessamine Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, September 22, 2023, at Sebrell Funeral Home and will resume at 9:30 a.m. Saturday September 23, 2023.
Wayne was born on March 12, 1951, in Glenridge, New Jersey; the son of the late, Ralph and Anna Sandifer. He was a graduate of James Caldwell High School, class of 1970, where he lettered in basketball. He spent his entire career in radio broadcasting. Wayne worked as a Disc Jockey for numerous stations, notably WLOX in Biloxi and Mix 96.3 and 94 TYX in Jackson, Mississippi. Wayne also was the Program Manager for JDX in Jackson.
He enjoyed riding his bicycle on the Natchez Trace Parkway and routinely rode from Ridgeland to Clinton. Wayne also enjoyed music and old television shows and westerns.
Along with his parents, Ralph and Anna Sandifer, he is preceded in death by his wife, Pamela Ann Bowen Sandifer, his sister, Laurel Beth, and his uncle Tony Leone.
Survivors include, son Robert Andrew Laseter (Elizabeth) of Pelahatchie; grandchildren, Alexis of Memphis; Donavan and Ayden Laseter both of Pelahatchie, MS; and his aunt, Dolores Leone.
