Virginia Ann Peter Hoover went to be with the Lord on November 16, 2023. A graveside service will be held at the Bolton Cemetery on Monday, November 20th at 10:00 am.
Virginia was known by her family and close friends as G. Virginia was born November 29, 1935, in Birmingham, Alabama to Thomas Jefferson Peter and Virginia McLaurin Peter.
She grew up in Meridian, MS where she also raised her two children. After graduating from Meridian High School in 1953 she attended Mary Baldwin College her freshman year and then graduated from the University of Mississippi with a B.A. degree. At Ole Miss she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.
She was community minded and a member of several organizations including the Meridian Junior Auxiliary serving as President of the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries in 1971. She moved to Jackson in 1988 where she worked as a tax accountant. She was a member of St. Philips Episcopal Church, High Noon Luncheon Club and the Wise Owls Chi Omega Club.
Virginia is survived by her daughter Laurin Matlock and her husband Paul, her son Craig Yuill and his wife Cindy.as well as her two grandchildren Kimberly Victoria Corley and Thomas Wesley Matlock..
She is preceded in death by her husbands James W.Yuill and O.J. (Pete) Hoover.
