Obituary for Valerie Jean Miller
Valerie Miller, 67, of Pearl, MS transitioned from her earthly life to her eternal blessing on 12/31/20. Valerie was a longtime resident of Lakewood, CA moving to MS in 2014. Valerie worked as a waitress, law clerk, fitness coach and owner of multiple fitness centers. Her favorite leisure activities included bobbin lace making, crocheting, traveling, and historical reenactments. Valerie was a champion Irish dancer and for 8 years a docent at the Gamble House, the historic home of David Gamble of Proctor and Gamble. Built in 1908, The house was featured as Doc Brown’s house in the movie Back to the Future. Valerie was a member of The Red Hat Society, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Order of the Eastern Star, and Daughters of the Nile where she was the reigning Queen of El Kanah Temple No. 142 in Jackson, MS. Left to forever cherish her memory are her husband of 45 years, Dan Miller, daughter Shannen Miller, son Dustin Miller, sister Denise Starkey, brother Rick Byrge, and many other nieces, nephews, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her Father Benjamin Asland, Mother Coleen Byrge, and Step- Father Robert Byrge. The family would like to thank the wonderful team at Sta-Home Hospice for their loving care the past few months and the rest of the medical team who cared for Valerie over the last 2 years. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to your favorite animal charity or Shriners Hospital for Children. Memorial Service we be held at Skyway Hills Church of Christ, Pearl. 2pm 01/16/20
