Obituary for Tyson Larue Turnage
TYSON LARUE TURNAGE
Tyson Larue Turnage died suddenly on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 in his home. He was 41.
A native and lifelong resident of Jackson, Mississippi, he was the son of Susan Boyles Loyd and George Lynn Turnage.
Tyson was the Head Chef at Kathryn’s Steakhouse in Ridgeland where he had been a fixture for almost 20 years. He was a dedicated and devoted employee and had a longtime, special friendship with owner, Kerry Brashear, whom he deeply admired.
Tyson’s mother recalls his happy childhood where he loved fireworks and playing baseball and football. He and his brother, Tyler, enjoyed having friends over to spend the night, ride bikes, skateboard, and getting into lots of mischief. Tyson treasured being a father to his twin girls, Katie and Ashleigh, and an uncle to his nieces, Ryenne and Wallis. As an adult, he looked forward to Sunday night family cookouts, pulling for the Denver Broncos, and taking trips with the guys. Tyson, a man of many hats, will be dearly missed.
Tyson is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mary and Larue Boyles; paternal grandparents, Shirley and George Turnage; uncles, Johnny Turnage and Louis Turnage; stepmother, Shirley Turnage and stepfather, David Loyd.
He is survived by his twin daughters, Katie and Ashleigh Turnage; his mother, Susan Loyd, all of Ridgeland, MS; father, George Lynn “Buzz” Turnage, of Monroe, LA; brother, Tyler Lynn Turnage (Tiffany) and their children, Ryenne and Wallis, of Gluckstadt, MS; aunt, Linda Chin (Warren), of Denver; uncles, Jerry Boyles (Angela), of Morgan City, LA and Jeff Boyles, of Ridgeland; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at Sebrell Funeral Home, 425 Northpark Drive in Ridgeland, Bro. Kenneth Roberts officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a fund established for his daughters. Mail to Susan Loyd, 1002 Camdenmill Drive, Ridgeland, MS 39157.
