Obituary for Thomas D. Dewees
Thomas D. Dewees, 65, died Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at St. Dominic. A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Chapel of the Cross with burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday in the Parish Hall.
He attended Mississippi State University where he was a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He returned home to Madison County, Mississippi to help his father, Mason Lee Dewees farm his families land. Thomas went into business for himself over 20 years ago, owning and operating Dewees Dirt Work and was still working in the business until he fell ill. Thomas enjoyed spending time with family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mason Lee Dewees, Jr. and his mother, Patricia Dugan Dewees.
Survivors include: sons, Carey Dewees (Maggie), Curtis Dewees both of Madison and their mother, Pam Dewees of Ridgeland; sisters, Dianne Dewees of Gulfport, Tricia Reimers (John) of SC and niece, Kristen (Brent) Tompkins of LA.
