Obituary for Stuart Carlton Mitchell
STUART CARLTON MITCHELL

Stuart Carlton Mitchell died Sunday, May 24, 2020 at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was 70.

A native and lifelong resident of Jackson, Mississippi, born December 6, 1949, he was the son of Harvey and Capers Wilson Mitchell.

Mr. Mitchell proudly served his country and was a veteran of the United States Army. In 2013, he retired from Safelite Glass Company with over 35 years of dedicated service. He was a member of St. Andrew’s Cathedral

Stuart was a wonderful and loving husband, father, son, and papa. He always had a smile on his face and always knew how to make you feel special. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was always spreading God’s message. He would tell anyone that would listen about the amazing miracles God performed in his life. His family knows that he is in a better place, but will be greatly missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Margaret T. Mitchell; daughters, Leigh Mitchell Craft (Jason), of Gluckstadt, Mississippi and Emily Mitchell Lee (Sam), of Brandon, Mississippi; grandchildren: William Allen, Samuel Lee, and twins Addison and Avery Lee; and other relatives and friends.

Due to the Coronavirus, the family will hold a private interment in Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association by visiting www.heart.org or to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Cathedral, 305 E. Capitol St., Jackson, MS 39201.
