Obituary for Stormy Sage Barnes
Stormy Sage Barnes was granted her angel wings on December 17, 2018, following a lifelong illness. Her final days were spent surrounded by family and a multitude of friends, all of whom Stormy had touched in some way throughout her short, yet very memorable life. Stormy’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile could melt the hearts of those around her and though she spoke in a language all her own, her voice and thoughts could always be heard. She made sure she got her point across! Although Stormy’s illness made her appear frail, she possessed strength, perseverance, and an ability to overcome incredible odds and never ending challenges. With her courage she led us to believe that each day is a blessing and an opportunity to create lasting memories. With Stormy’s passing we remind others that her life is one to be celebrated. Though she will be greatly missed every day, she will forever live and remain in our hearts. Stormy is survived by her loving parents, Harley and Rhonda Barnes of Brandon, MS; a 16 year old brother, Michael Jennings, 3 sisters, Brentlyn Barnes, 13, Neva-KayeBarnes, 11, and Autumn Barnes, 9; and paternal grandparents Troy and Sylvia Faye Shaw. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents Marlene Kaye Stoppand Johnny Weeden Barnes. Please join us in Celebrating Stormy’s Life. We would love to have you share your favoritestories and/or cute memories. Stormy taught us many things during the short time she was with us, but the one she made sure to show and teach over and over again, was the importance of not letting bad days, tough times, nor even painful experiences rob you of your inner joy… to live your life to its fullest, and do so, with a smile on your face! A Memorial will be held Sunday, January 6, 2019, at 12 o’clock pm, following the morning worship service, at Journey Church, 1000 Municipal Drive, Brandon, MS 39042.
