Obituary for Stephen Carter Dickerson
Stephen Carter Dickerson passed from this life to the next on January 26, 2018 at the age of 56 when he died of a heart attack at his residence in Jackson, Mississippi. He has been battling cancer for several years. Stephen was born in Greenwood, Mississippi on May 20, 1961 and moved with his family to Jackson in 1967. He graduated from Callaway High School and attended Holmes Community College. Stephen lived in Winter Park, Florida for a number of years where he was in the travel promotion business. He loved to watch all sports and was a fan of the Mississippi State Bulldogs since childhood. Stephen never met a stranger and would try to get a laugh from everyone he met. He is survived by his father, Walter Dickerson, Jr. of Jackson; brother, Dick Dickerson (Claire) of Oxford; sister, Donna Dickerson Seale (Joe) of Alpharetta, GA; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Joy Carter Dickerson; and sister, Melanie Dickerson O’Reilly. A graveside service will be held at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko at 11AM on Wednesday, January 31st, 2018 with Earl Adams of Trinity Presbyterian Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to CARA, 960 N. Flag Chapel Road, Jackson, MS 39209.
