Stephen Buford Wigginton, known to his loved ones as Wigg, passed away on January 10, 2024, at the age of 53 at his home in Brandon, Mississippi. He was born on April 11, 1970, in Durant, Mississippi. Wigg is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and his sister, Pacey Wigginton Regan (Joey). He was a beloved uncle to Brighton Hutchinson, Trace Regan, and Rhett Regan.
Wigg was a proud alumnus of Canton Academy, where he completed his high school education. He furthered his education at The University of Mississippi where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Journalism. He is also an alumnus of the Chi Psi Fraternity.
Stephen served his country in the Navy for 10 years. As Lieutenant, he worked as a ship's officer at the training command in Great Lakes, Ilinois. He was stationed all across the world including Hawaii and South Korea. His commitment and dedication to his military associations were unwavering.
Following his Naval service, Stephen and Elizabeth lived in Arkansas, then Texas, then moved to Mississippi to be near family.
In his professional life, Wigg has worked as a distribution coordinator at Southeastern Freight Lines in Richland for the past 5 years. He was highly regarded for his expertise and efficiency in his role.
Outside of work, Wigg had a variety of hobbies that brought him joy. He was a loyal Ole Miss Rebels fan and enjoyed watching their games. He learned the art of deep sea fishing from his father in law, Karl. Traveling with his wife and attending concerts were also activities that he cherished.
