Obituary for Shirley Nance Green
Shirley Nance Green, 83, of Raymond, MS passed quietly July 10, 2022, at CMMC in Jackson. Shirley was a longtime resident of Indianola, MS. Born in Shaw, MS November 9, 1938. She attended school in Ruleville and Shaw and married James Green of Louise in 1957. They made their home in Indianola. Shirley worked over 9 years for Jockey International after which she and James owned and operated Green’s Floor Service. She was a member of Second Baptist Church of Indianola and after leaving here they settled in Raymond where she made her church home at Raymond Road Baptist. She was a cancer survivor of 15 years. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Ruth Nance; sisters Agnes Williams and Joan Lee; and her husband James. She is survived by her daughter Vanessa (Andy) Bishop; 2 grandsons Jason (Chasity) Bishop and Drew (Wendy) Bishop; 7 great grandchildren Dylan, Sarah, Lanie, Cole, Pierce, Sadie and Cyllus; and 1 sister Olivia Ross. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 6:00pm at Raymond Road Baptist Church in Jackson with a visitation beginning at 5:00pm. A graveside service will be held at Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville Saturday, July 16, 2022, at 2:00 pm.
