Obituary for Scottie Ledale Liles

Scottie Ledale Liles, 50, of Pearl, Mississippi, died October 31, 2023. Scottie was born August 15, 1973, to Nelson Ledale Liles and Mary Pauline Liles.

Scott or “Scottie” as he liked to be referred to loved Nascar and Late Model Car Racing. His favorite place to be on a weekend night was the dirt track if he wasn’t at his favorite watering hole. Scott had a huge heart and loved many. Scott would give anyone the shirt off his back if they needed it, but Scott was a very prideful man who did not like asking for help. He worked in the Construction Industry and that was his passion- he greatly loved working. Scott also loved his rock music that he usually listened to at max volume!! Scott loved his niece Kim who was more like his sister than anything since they were raised together. Scott loved animals , especially his dog Charlie Brown who went on a lot of adventures with him. He also loved Duke and Lady who belonged to his niece but there was never a conversation that he didn’t ask what they were doing and when they could come live with him! He was never too manly to walk those two standard poodles . Scott adored his two great nieces Abby Grace and Sophie Faith. He was very proud of them. Scott was a jokester and always picked on the nieces and nephews… almost always to aggravation! Scott never failed to end a phone call with his aunts without asking what they were cooking for supper! Scott had a strong faith that his mother and grandmother instilled in him. If Scott could be doing anything at this moment he surely would be racing late model cars with Charlie Brown in the front seat on the dirt tracks in heaven.

Scottie is predeceased by his parents, Nelson Ledale Liles and Mary Pauline Liles, his sister Michelle Kester , brother Robin Liles ,Uncle Neal Bland , cousin Chris Bland and his favorite Aunt Judy Bland- ( you could usually find these two getting into some type of trouble ) .He is survived by his aunts, Barbara Bland (James) and Linda Kay Tagert (Jesse); his nieces, Kimberly Sims (Curtis) and Kacey Smith (Chris); his uncles, Wayne Bland (Red) and Albert Bland (Terri); 4 grandnieces and grandnephews; and numerous cousins.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
