Obituary for Sanford Drew Warren
Sanford Drew Warren, 84, passed away from this life on July 8, 2020 at Baptist Hospital in Jackson, MS. He was born on May 21st, 1937 to the late Thurman and Bertha Black Warren. Sanford grew up in the Laurel, MS area. He attended college at Jones Community College and the University of Southern Miss. His major was in accounting, earned his degree in accounting; and he continued his education to obtain a master’s degree. Sanford served his country, spending two years in Germany and the remainder of the time in the states. He then, did more work toward a specialist degree. He worked with the IRS for 32 years after securing his CPA license in 1969. Sanford taught (Adjunct) at several local colleges and universities during the time he worked with the IRS. He also operated a CPA office for a number of years. He was always very active in his church and could be counted on for many duties needed. Sanford was preceded in death by his loving parents, Thurman and Bertha Warren and his wife Joann Warren. He is survived by his son, Michael Warren of North Carolina; daughter, Sharon McWilliams of Mississippi; grandchildren, Nicholas McWilliams (Cindy) and Logan Warren; sister, Sadie Mae Pounders of Florida, and a host of nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held, Friday, July 10, 2020 at Sebrell Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a graveside service at Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Saturday, July 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Dr. Cooper officiating. If you are able to come to the visitation and graveside, we ask that all social distancing guidelines be followed and that all in attendance wear masks.
