Obituary for Sandra Wade Collette
Mrs. Sandra Wade Collette, 83, of Brandon, MS went to her eternal home on January 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Sandra was born in Humphreys County and grew up in Belzoni, MS. She was the daughter of the late Preston Homer Wade and Nina Grace Abel Wade. She was the third of five girls.
In High School, Sandra was active in Y-Teens, FHA, Delta Lassies, and the Belzoni Marching Band. Sandra was a very gifted and creative artist. Her artistry includes sewing, oil painting, decorating, upholstery, and much more.
Sandra married James E. Collette on December 24, 1961. Sandra was a most loving wife and mother. Her children were nurtured by the best stay at home mom who worked as a single mother during her husband's military deployments. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she lovingly encouraged her family to follow her Lord and Savior, Jesus. She was a faithful member of Crossgates Baptist Church
She is preceded in death by her parents, Homer Wade and Nina Wade and sister, Ladelle Fondren.
She is survived by her husband, James E. Collette Sr., daughter, Jean Carpenter and husband John Carpenter, sons, James Collette Jr., and wife Brenda Collette, Matthew Collette and wife Courtney Collette, Michael Collette and wife Heather Collette. She is also survived by her grandchildren, James Collette III, John R. Carpenter and wife Mary Peyton Carpenter, Jessica M. Carpenter, Gracie Hart Collette and sisters, Bettye Nelms, Linda Healy and Dianne Labella.
A Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2022 at Crossgates Baptist Church. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
