Obituary for Samuel R. McClintock, Jr., USAF TSgt, (Ret.)
Samuel R. "Mac" McClintock, Jr., USAF TSgt (Ret.) passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at the VA Nursing Home in Jackson, MS. He was 88. Mac was born in Greenwood, MS on December 23rd, 1932, to the late Samuel McClintock, Sr. and Sara Jones McClintock. Mac graduated from Belzoni High School in 1950. After high school he entered Mississippi State University and subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He served in combat in Korea and upon discharge returned to Belzoni, MS. He subsequently enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and became an Explosive Ordnance Disposal expert, serving in combat in Laos and Vietnam where he earned multiple honors including the Bronze Star with "V" (Valor) device. He completed his service and retired in Colorado Springs, CO and eventually returned home to Mississippi. Mac mastered the use of firearms and shooting was one of his most enjoyed hobbies. Mac attended Wynndale Presbyterian Church where he made many lifelong friends over the years. He also enjoyed working on the farm or his cherished cabin in Crystal Park. Mac was a beloved husband, devoted father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sara Virginia Leake, a daughter, Karen McClintock, and a granddaughter, Carmen D. Brantley. Mac is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marian McClintock of Terry, MS; his sons, U.S. Army Lt Col (Ret.) Richard P. McClintock and his wife Andrea of Stuttgart, Germany, U.S. Air Force Brigadier General (Ret.) Bruce McClintock, his wife Tamara of Monument, CO; his first wife and the mother of his children, Christine F. McClintock of Colorado Springs, CO and his stepson, Zane Brantley and his wife Gwen of West Monroe, LA; his grandchildren, Brittany Laffitte (Travis), Roja McClintock (Tobi), Victoria McClintock, Lukas McClintock, and Alexandra McClintock and his great grandchildren, Harper and Remi Laffitte.

A Memorial service will be May 26th, 2021 at 11 AM at Wynndale Presbyterian Church with Dr. Mark Spelling officiating. The visitation is from 10:00 AM until 11 AM. Inurnment will be at Belzoni Cemetery at 3 PM in Belzoni, MS.
