Obituary for Samantha V Murray
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.
Psalm 23
Samatha Vollm Murray died February 3, 2016 in Jackson, Mississippi. Memorial services are pending and will be announced as soon as possible.
A loving wife of 15 years to her husband, Park, Sam was also a devoted mother to her daughters Makenzie, Masey, and Erin, and an extraordinary grandmother to Parker and Kevin. Their days were full of laughter and love for each other, and her passing leaves a void that will never be filled. Her children were her priority throughout her life.
In addition to her own family, Sam was a mother to so many other young people who found comfort in her care. Described as having "the biggest, loving soul ever," her passing will be felt deeply by this extended family.
She had a servant's heart. She would stop and do anything, anytime, to help anyone - no matter the cost or inconvenience. She loved with all she had, with all her heart.
Sam loved the outdoors, and especially loved her time at the family deer camp. Time there was filled with adventures in the creek, exploring, and playing in the woods. She found solace in the peace of the woods with her children and grandchildren. Together, they made memories that will not fade with the passing of time.
Sam was preceded in death by her brother, Kevin Vollm, and her father, Farrell Vollm. In addition to her husband and daughters, she is survived by her mother, Louise Hammack Vollm; sisters, Sandi Vollm Phillips, Carla Acord (Zane) and Hope Leigh Vollm; and her extended family.
The family has established an online GoFundMe account (www.gofundme.com/maseyanderin) to support ongoing healthcare expenses for Masey and education costs for Erin, and respectfully asks that gifts in Sam's memory be given to support her family.
