Obituary for Ruby Nell Rushing
Ruby Nell Rushing passed away on Friday, September 20, 2020. She was 83.
A native of Union, Mississippi, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Vernie Pierce Loper. She was a faithful member of Griffith Baptist Church. She loved her church and her family. She enjoyed spending time working in her yard and always had her faithful companion, her beloved dog Bailey, nearby.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Alton E. Rushing; her son, Mark Staton; brothers, Charles “Sonny” Loper, Kenny Loper, and Glean Allen Loper.
She is survived by her daughters, Twyla Staton (Gary Rollins) and Barbara McDaniel (Chuck); brother, Bobby Loper (Jackie); and her grandchildren, Collette Cummins, Chris Cummins (Colleen), and Wes Stephens (Ruthie Chamberlain); and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Griffith Memorial Baptist Church in Jackson, the Rev. Andy Fullington, officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemont Memorial Gardens. All attendees are required to wear masks and adhere to social distancing best practices, please.
