Obituary for Roy Milton "Buddy" Harvey
Roy Milton “Buddy” Harvey of Flora, died July 15, 2022, at the VA Medical Center. A graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 18, 2022, at Flora Cemetery. Mr. Harvey was born November 5, 1930 in Norris, Mississippi to the late Charles Clete Harvey and Millicent Faye Daniels Harvey.
A veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy on the USS Coral Sea (CVA 43.) For his service in the Navy, he was awarded the Navy Occupation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. In his professional life, Mr. Harvey worked as a printer for Hederman Brothers. He enjoyed football, golf, hunting, and fishing. Most of all Mr. Harvey enjoyed life and loved the Lord. He was a member of Simmons Memorial Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary F. Luke Harvey; father, Charles Clete Harvey; mother, Millicent Faye Daniels Harvey; sons. Wayne Harvey and Charles "Charlie" Harvey and sisters, Nettie Jean Harvey, Sarah Mae Harvey Gatewood. Survivors include: son, Mike Harvey and wife Donna of Brandon; daughters, Linda Harvey of Forest; Janet Stiltner and her husband Ray of Forest; step-daughter, Sherry Gaines and her husband Robert of Flora; step-son, Barry Ward and his wife Renee’ of Bentonia; many grandchildren, great –grandchildren, sister, Nina P. Rayburn of Pearl and nieces and nephews, including, beloved niece, Eva J. Myers and husband Johnny of Picayune.
