Obituary for Roy Fulton Moore, Jr.
Roy Fulton Moore, Jr. died Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. He was 85.
A native of Sledge, Mississippi, born December 24, 1932, he was the son of the late Analiza and Roy Moore. He grew up loving the Delta and stayed busy on his Daddy’s farm.
He was a graduate of Ole Miss, majoring in business, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and the ROTC.
Mr. Moore served our country as a pilot in the United States Air Force and later with the Mississippi Air National Guard. Following a tour of duty in Germany, he went to work for Crawford & Co retiring in 1997.
He enjoyed attending his Anatole Bible Study and was a member of the Glen Britt Sunday School Class. He was a member of Broadmoor Baptist Church.
Roy was an athlete and avid sports fan, especially Ole Miss athletics. For years he enjoyed golfing before discovering a new love for playing tennis. Above all, Roy loved his family. He was supportive and always in attendance at his grandsons’ sporting events. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed dearly.
Roy is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Prichard Moore, of Madison; daughter, Shannon Dye and husband, Hamp, of Madison; grandsons: Nathan Dye and wife, Hannah, of Oxford and David Dye, of Vicksburg; and great granddaughter, Ann Hampton Dye.
Friends are invited to visitation with the family at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 in the Chapel at Broadmoor Baptist Church where services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Jarrett and Rev. Cliff Hardin officiating. Interment will be private at Parkway Memorial Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland or to a charity of your choice.
