Obituary for Ronald "Ronnie" Starns
Ronald “Ronnie” Starns died peacefully on August 13, 2017 in Gulfport, MS at the age of 68. Ronnie was born on August 29, 1948 in Greenville, MS to Raymond and Ruby Starns. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1967 and attended The University of Arkansas. He served with the Army in Vietnam in 1969. He married Linda Longoria Starns in 1993. Ronnie was a long-term employee for the former Jitney Jungle Stores for almost 30 years. He began working for Ramey’s Marketplace in 2007 as a Construction and Operations Manager. Ronnie is survived by his wife, Linda Starns, of Biloxi, MS, his son and daughter-in-law, ron and Shanna Starns, of Century, Fl; his daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Zac Ritchie, of Slidell, LA; his step-daughter, Connie Strong, of Biloxi, MS; his sister Sue Chisolm, of Lexington, MS; his brother, Billy Starns, of Clinton MS; and his six grandchildren, Kory Strong, Landon Stringer, Mia Starns, Reece Starns, Ezra Ritchie, and Levi Ritchie. He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Starns and Ruby Starns McLellan, of Greenville, MS; and his brother, Finley Starns, of Little Rock, AR. A funeral is scheduled for Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 5971 MS-25 (Lakeland Dr.) Flowood, MS 39232. Visitation will be from 10am-12pm and Mass will begin at 12pm with a reception to follow. Father Cosgrove will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Ronnie’s life. Flowers may be made to St. Paul's Catholic Church. Donations may be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 8343 Woolmarket Rd., Biloxi, MS 39532
