Obituary for Roland Dale Sullivan
Roland Dale Sullivan, 88, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will begin at 9:30am until 11:00am on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Highland Baptist Church, 160 Columbia Avenue, Jackson, Mississippi. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:15am at Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, Mississippi.
Mr. Sullivan was a special man. He was a dedicated, loving husband, father and grandfather and was a hardworking man. He was a Christian and a dedicated member of Highland Baptist Church. He was the type of person who was always willing to help anyone in need, no matter who it may be, whether it was a friend, neighbor or a stranger, he was there to lend a helping hand. He was a Captain with the Jackson Fire Department, retiring in 1983 after 21 years of service. In his spare time, he loved to fish.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lowry Sullivan and Lora Elizabeth Ware Sullivan; son, Kevin Sullivan; brother, Henry D. Sullivan; sisters, Era Harrison, Mary Lou Ashley and Maggie Bryant.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 69 years, Billie Husband Sullivan; sons, Stanley Sullivan and wife, Cindy of Pearl, MS and Randy Sullivan of Clinton; daughter, Wanda Sullivan Randall of Jackson, MS; daughter-in-law, Karen Sullivan of Clinton, MS; grandsons, Drew Sullivan and Eric Sullivan of Clinton, MS; granddaughters, Emily Sullivan, Leah Sullivan and Aubrey Sullivan all of Pearl, MS; foster great grandsons, Tae Taylor and Drew Moorhead, also a host of extended, loving family and friends.
