Obituary for Robert R Lynch
Robert R. Lynch, 92, died Friday, March 24, 2017 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS surrounded by his family.
Robert was born on August 2, 1924 in Worcester, MA, the son of the late Robert E. Lynch and Agnes R. Johnson Lynch. He was an Army air corps sergeant and veteran of WWII. He had a successful career in business, and ultimately retired as senior Vice-President at Tandy Corporation in Fort Worth, TX. After his family and his faith, he deeply enjoyed reading and his beloved Dallas cowboys. For those who knew him well, they will always remember his ability to quote literature and always having a joke to tell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Florence Steinhilber Lynch and granddaughter Shannon Hoger. Survivors include his sons, Robert E. (Cynthia) Lynch of Canton, MS and James Frances Lynch of Tampa, FL; daughters, Nancy J. (Victor) McNew of Fort Worth, TX, Cynthia D. (Jay) Hoger of Denton, TX and Susan E. (Stan) Forbes of Fort Worth, TX; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was an active and faithful disciple of Christ at Northeast Christian Church, 3169 W. Tidewater, Madison, MS 39110 and considered the minister, Rev. Fred Rohlfs, a valued friend as well as his pastor.
The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 1st, 2017 beginning at 2:00pm and a visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 1:00pm at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Rd., Fort Worth, TX 76134. Burial will immediately follow the service.
