Obituary for Robert Melton Hodges
Robert Melton Hodges, 78, died December 1, 2016 at Baptist Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church in Madison with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Services will continue at 2:00 pm Sunday at New Hope Church in Winona with burial in the New Hope Cemetery.
Mr. Hodges was born on April 5, 1938, in Winona, to the late William Melton Hodges and Landis Hodges. A veteran, Mr. Hodges served in the USAF. He married his wife Shirley in 1966 and worked as a truck driver throughout Mississippi. A founding member of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, he was a devout Christian man who loved God and family.
Survivors include: his wife, Shirley Hodges of Ridgeland; son, Matthew Hodges of Woodbridge, VA; grandchildren, Landis, Clara and Parke Hodges and brother, Don Hodges of Winona.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St, Matthew’s United Methodist Church of Madison or New Hope Church of Winona.
