Obituary for Robert E Caskey
Robert E. Caskey of Richland, MS passed away October 17th,2018 at his residence with his loving family. He was born in Grand Rapids, MI on September 3rd, 1931 to the late James Don and Eva Freeman Caskey. Robert moved to the Jackson, MS area in 1969 and was a very active member of his community ever since. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in journalism and used his talents to write books and columns for magazines and newspapers. Robert taught journalism at Mississippi State University before moving here where he taught English at Antonelli and Virginia colleges. He was the Bureau Director for Public Safety and was a square dance caller as he sang and taught square dancing. He is a member of Wells United Methodist Church, where he was dedicated to visiting nursing homes, especially with Specialty Care serving that community until he could no longer walk himself.
Mr. Caskey is survived by beautiful wife Rizalina Caskey, together for 30 years; sister- Beverly Jupstrom of Grand Rapids, MI; nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials can be made to Hospice Ministries Inc., 450 Towne Center Blvd, Ridgeland, MS 39157. Family will have a private service at a later date.
