Obituary for Robert (Bob) Belton Sims
Robert (Bob) Belton Sims went to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at the age of 86. A native of Brandon, MS, he played football at Brandon High School and the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He went on to complete his MBA degree at Ole Miss. A veteran, he served in the Military Police branch of the U.S. Army. Formerly self-employed, he was retired. Bob enjoyed playing cards, gardening, fishing, parades, and Ole Miss Football. Bob loved his family more than anything. He cherished time spent with his wife and he was very proud and supportive of his children and grandchildren. He had a generous heart and always seemed to put others above self. He is survived by his wife, Patty Sims; sons, Kevin Sims (Kathy), Clint Sims (Misti) and Bryant Sims (Ashley) all of Madison, MS; four sisters, Diane Meek (Lee) of Oxford, MS, Nancy Swain (Bob) of Rochester, NY, Judy Sanders (Bob) of College Station, TX, Lisa Brandom of Eureka Springs, AR, grandchildren Kaylee Sims, Kate Sims, Lowe Sims and Stella Sims. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Pelahatchie, MS. Bob was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS. The family requests memorials be made to the Music Ministry of Christ United Methodist Church.
