Obituary for Richard Hall Barfield
Richard Hall Barfield, 91, died Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the VA Nursing Home in Jackson. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with burial following in Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mr. Barfield was born on May 9, 1931, in Marietta, GA; the son of the late Homer Hall Barfield and Ethel Lee Dobbs Barfield. A veteran, he served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, and the Korean Service Medal.
A resident of Pearl since 1956, he worked as a typesetter for Hederman Brothers. A devout Christian, he was a member of Skyway Hills Church of Christ.
He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby May Squires Barfield, son, Kenneth Wayne Barfield, brother, Norman Barfield, sister, Delores Barfield and Parents, Homer Hall Barfield and Ethel Lee Dobbs Barfield Mr. Barfield is survived by son, Tony Eugene Barfield of Pearl; niece, Jeralyn Perkins of Forest; niece, Earlene Trest of Morton; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Waggoner of Forest; and brother-in-law; Dennis Squires of Forest; and a host of nieces and nephews.
