Obituary for Richard Allen Blackburn
Richard Allen Blackburn, age 72, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at St. Dominic Hospital, due to complications due to COVID/Pneumonia. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Pearl.
Mr. Blackburn enjoyed many things in life like golfing, being a handyman and mowing grass for his daughter, Sheryl. However, overall, he enjoyed spending time with his grandson Marshall, Sheryl, and his granddog,, Waylon as well as simply hanging out with his best friend Brian Benson .
Mr. Blackburn had a great sense of humor, loved the Lord, and cared for many . He loved working at the Pearl Municipal Golf Course in Pearl, MS and all the guys he worked with.
Mr. Blackburn served thirty-six (36) years in law enforcement throughout Rankin County. He loved law enforcement and the officers he served with.
Lastly, anyone who knew Mr. Blackburn, you knew the Lord. He was a great Jokester, but he would always bring up the Lord. His daughter, Sheryl is at peace knowing her dad is in heaven.
He is survived by a daughter, Sheryl Poole; granson,, Marshall Poole; grandog , Waylon Poole, brother, Charles Blackburn; and best friend Brian Benson along with many golfing friends and friends he shared the gospel with.
He is preceded in death by his mother Ms. Tackett.
