Obituary for Rich Richardson
Don Wendell Richardson, Jr, affectionately known as Rich, passed from natural causes at his home in Madison on 6/1/21 at the age of 47. Rich was born April 15, 1974 in Jackson, MS to Don and Marie Richardson. To most people, Rich was an all-star athlete. He was a graduate of Madison Ridgeland Academy where he was a state champion basketball, football, and baseball player. He was an all-star and MVP in all three sports, as well as student body president and Mr. MRA. He won numerous sports awards, but he also exceled in the classroom. As a result, he was the recipient of a full academic scholarship to the University of Mississippi where he was an active member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. At the time of his passing, Rich was living in Madison and working for the State of Mississippi. Rich was so much to so many. He could often be found supporting his nieces and nephews at their sporting events, convincing you why Phish is the greatest band in the world, or low key mentioning the Ole Miss Rebels’ sports superiority around his Mississippi State Bulldog loving family. He was the life of the party, center of attention, and could make anyone laugh. There was never a dull moment with Rich, and the hole he will leave behind will be great. He is survived by his parents, Don and Marie Richardson, sisters Angela Inman of Flowood and Jessica (Drew) Wright of Hernando, Grandmother Dorothy Kilpatrick, his nieces and nephews Brice Ford, Katherine Inman, and Lucy and Carlisle Wright as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3rd from 5:00-7:00pm at Sebrell Funeral Home with a memorial service at the same location on Friday, June 4th at 10:00am.
