Obituary for Reverend Harold Ross Griffin
REVEREND HAROLD ROSS GRIFFIN
Rev. Harold Ross Griffin died at his home in Ridgeland, Mississippi surrounded by his loving family on Monday, May 4, 2020. He was 86. A native of Evergreen, Alabama, he was the son of the late A.C. and Ruth Ross Griffin. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Rev. Griffin attended Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida. He served as Pastor for the churches of Assemblies of God for over 50 years throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Mississippi. In 2018, he received his ordination recognition for his more than five decades of pastoral service. Rev. Griffin loved the Atlanta Braves and was a collector of baseball cards and stamps. He had a wonderful sense of humor. Above all he loved the Lord and was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Morris Griffin. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mavis Boroughs Griffin, of Ridgeland, MS; daughters, Felicia Wilson (Danny), of Garland, TX and Fonda Lester (Dan), of Jackson, MS; granddaughter, Jada Lester, of Jackson, MS; sister, Patricia Sheek (Steve), of Weimar, TX; brothers, Artis Griffin (Judy), of Tupelo, MS and Lynn Griffin (Julia), of Stockton, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Gaddis Chapel Cemetery in Jackson, AL, the Rev. Billy Cardwell officiating.
