Renate "Renee" Hain Murphy, age 85, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, October 22, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments. Mrs. Murphy was born in Germany to the late Ernst and Theresa Meryer Hain on April 3rd, 1933. She was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church.
Renate lived a full and wonderful life with great achievements. As a child, she was recognized and awarded for her gymnastic ability in Germany. She enjoyed free-climbing mountains in the Alps. She was a survivor of WWII war torn Germany and came to America after she married the love of her life, John Murphy. Together they raised their son and three daughters with the constitutional values of our republic that Renee understood and appreciated.
Mrs. Murphy was a determined woman with a desire for her voice and opinion to be heard. She taught herself English and loved working crossword puzzles. She was a strong woman with a tender side and gave her best to her family. Her friends and family will always remember her wonderfully home cooked meals. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister that was loved very much by her family and others.
Renee is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ralph Hain.
She is survived by her loving husband John Murphy from Jackson, MS; son- John Murphy, Jr. from Crawfordville, FL; daughters-Catherine (Glen) Davis from Terry, MS, Maureen Murphy from Madison, MS, and Patricia (Larry) Bennett from Flora, MS; grandchildren- Chris Davis, Kerry Davis, Zach Bennett, and Ryan Bennett; and 3 great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, October 24th at St. Richard’s Catholic Church, 1242 Lynnwood Dr., Jackson, MS at 10:30 A.M. with a visitation before the service from 9:30-10:30A.M.
