Obituary for Rebecca Carraway Baldwin
Rebecca Carraway Baldwin passed away peacefully at home, May 16, 2017, surrounded by her family, after a valiant four year battle to overcome ovarian cancer.
Rebecca was born May 24, 1969 in Gulfport, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Bobbye and "Gus" Carraway, Rebecca is preceded in death by her father, A.F. Carraway, III, her brother, Ronald Carraway and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Allums and Mr. & Mrs. A.F. Carraway, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Scott Baldwin, her daughter Chandler Kate Baldwin and her son Rush Allums Baldwin, her Mother, Bobby Allums Carraway, her sisters, Pamela Carraway Moore and Susan Carrawy Carpenter (Roy) and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Rebecca graduated from St. Johns High School in Gulfport, Mississippi and attended Mississippi State University and the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Fashion Merchandising and Elementary Education. While at Mississippi State University she was a member of the Phi Mu sorority.
Rebecca was a founding member of "The Bone Pile" tailgating tent, where she spent many happy Saturdays cheering her beloved Bulldogs on to victory!
Rebecca was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Jackson. She was also a member of the JAA, Jackson Academy's Parent Association, where she served on numerous committees, which supported her children's activities and sports.
Visitation will be held Thursday, May 18th from 5pm - 7pm at Christ United Methodist Church, located at 6000 Old Canton Road, Jackson, Mississippi. A service to celebrate Rebecca's life will be held on Friday, May 19th at 11:00 a..m., also at Christ United Methodist Church.
