Phyllis Clason Stover, 73, died peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at her home in Brandon, MS from end stage renal failure. A funeral service will be held at 6:00pm Friday, April 21, 2017 at St. Peter's by the Lake Episcopal Church. Visitation will begin at 5:00pm on Friday in the Parish Hall.

Phyllis was born on March 22, 1944, in Duncan Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Philip S. Clason and Mary Jo Clason. She moved around a lot as a child, living in Oklahoma, Michigan, Illinois and Missouri. Phyllis graduated from Ferguson High School in Florrissant, MO, attended the University of Oklahoma and later transferred to the University of Missouri.

While attending Ferguson High School, she met her husband Bill Stover. They married in 1964 and had three children. They moved to Brandon, MS in 1981. Although they divorced after 37 years of marriage, many would never know as the two of them remained good friends, making sure that they and their family were always together for holidays, vacations and special events.

She was an active and faithful communicant of St. Peter's by the Lake Episcopal Church, where she was involved with the church's garden club and EFM program. Phyllis loved to read, sing, wrote poetry and songs, was a Lifetime Bridge Master and worked for Wal-Mart in Pearl for over 30 years before retiring in 2014.

She is survived by son & daughter-in-law; Wes & Kim Stover of Jackson, MS, son Scott Stover of Brandon, MS, daughter & son-in-law Jill & Michael Martinez of San Antonio, TX. Her grandchildren - Haley, Abi, Maxine, Sally and Mikey and great grand child - Olivia. Her sister & brother-in-law, Stephanie & Danny Owens of St. Augustine Fl, brother & sister-in-law Larry & Julie Clason of Waterford, MI. Preceding her in death are both her parents; Philip & Mary Jo Clason and younger brother Christopher Clason.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to TPAN, which was founded by her late brother Chris 30 years ago. To donate by check, please mail to TPAN, 5537 N.
