Obituary for Paula Jean Emory Pafford
Paula Jean Pafford, 58, passed away in her home on Saturday, August 11, 2018 with her loving daughter by her side.
A native of Jackson, born March 29, 1960, she was the daughter of John W. Emory, Jr. and the late Barbara Jean Green Emory. She was a 1978 graduate of Callaway High School. Paula was a selfless, generous, and loving soul who loved animals and her music, especially Tom Petty. She was a free spirit who loved her family and loved serving the Lord. She will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Emory. She is survived by her daughter, Christal Pafford (Roman), of Bogue Chitto; father, John W. Emory, Jr., of Jackson; sister, Audrey Emory, of Jackson; brothers, John William Emory III, of Jackson, and Tommy Emory (Brenda), of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren: Chris Daniels, Vivian Young, and Ava Young; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Woodland Hills Baptist Church in Jackson, the Rev. Ty Pigott officiating. Interment will follow in Jessamine Cemetery in Ridgeland. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), 2618 Southerland Dr, Jackson, MS 39216.
