Obituary for Paul O. Miller, III
Paul O. Miller, III passed on January 21, 2019 at his residence in Jackson due to a heart attack. Paul was born in Meridian, Mississippi on Oct 26, 1943, son of Paul O. Miller, Jr. and Zara Thornton Miller. A graduate of Choctaw County High School in Butler, Alabama, Paul received an undergraduate degree from the University of Mississippi and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law. While practicing law, Paul served as chairman of the Youth and Law Committee of the Jackson Young Lawyer's Association, chairman of the Mississippi Law Institute and President of the Mississippi Chapter of the Federal Bar Association. After a successful, forty-one year career practicing labor and employment law, Paul retired in 2008. Retirement for Paul meant more time to spend with his grandchildren, travel and enjoy his passion of woodworking. Once asked to give his thoughts on retirement, Paul simply replied, “I highly recommend it.” Active in the Jackson community, Paul served as chairman of the YMCA of Jackson, President of the Exchange Club of Jackson and chairman of the Jackson Symphony League. He was a longtime member and Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Club of North Jackson Rotary Club. Paul is survived by his wife, Carolin; his children, Jill Corradini (Paolo) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi, Brent Miller (Kristen) of Houston, Texas and Gray Miller (Stacey) of Long Beach, Mississippi; and grandchildren Alexandra and Isabella Corradini, Mary Clare and Mac Miller, and Marissa Allen. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 24th from 10:30 am -12:30 pm at the Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland, MS. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Paul's name to the Rotary Foundation at https://www.rotary.org/en/donate.
