Obituary for Patrick Peterson Nicholas
Patrick Peterson Nicholas, 47, died December 24, 2016 at St. Dominic Medical Center.
He was born on May 15, 1969 in Jackson, the son of Donna Evans Nicholas and Samuel John Nicholas, Jr. In 1987, Patrick was graduated from St. Andrew's Episcopal School. As a member of the football team, he scored the first touchdown on the new campus football field. Patrick continued his education at the University of Alabama, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Communication and Business. While at Alabama, he was initiated into the Sigma Nu Fraternity.
Patrick began his career with Lamar Life Insurance Company shortly after college, and was one of the executives chosen to transfer to Chicago in 1997 with the Company. In 2014, he returned to Jackson to be close to family.
Although a cradle Catholic, Patrick found comfort at St. Peter's Catholic Cathedral and St. Philip's Episcopal Church.
He enjoyed college sports and professional sports, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the University of Notre Dame football team. Patrick loved animals and cherished spending time with his family.
Patrick will most be remembered as a cherished son, a beloved brother, a loving uncle and loyal friend.
He is survived by his mother, Donna Evans Nicholas of Jackson; father, Samuel John Nicholas, Jr., of Jackson; brother, Samuel John Nicholas, III of Jackson; brother, Christopher Walter Nicholas and wife his Mona Alston Nicholas and their daughters Avery Evans Victoria Nicholas and Anna Christopher Nicholas all of Jackson; brother, John Thomas Nicholas and wife Heather and their son, Samuel John Nicholas, IV all of Jackson.
A Celebration of Patrick's life be held 10:30 Thursday, at St. Philip's Episcopal Church with visitation beginning at 9:00am Thursday.
