Obituary for Patricia Pickering Overby
Patricia Pickering Overby, 72, died December 31, 2016 at Hospice Ministers. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 2, 2016 at Sebrell Funeral Home in Ridgeland with visitation beginning at 1:00 PM.
Patricia was born on August 17, 1944, in Mize, MS; the daughter of the late Lee and Viola Pickering. She began her career with Glemby, Inc. as a beautician and through hard work rose to management, overseeing 23 beauty salons. Patricia retired as a regional vice president of the Glemby, Inc.
She loved nature especially working in her flower beds at her home. Patricia enjoyed arts and crafts and was a talented artist both at painting and reconstructing older furniture. Patricia loved her animals, raising poodles throughout her life. Most of all she cherished her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She will be most remembered as a beloved mother and a devoted grandmother.
Along with her parents, Patricia is preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Viola Davis, sister, Willow Jean Jones and nephew, Daniel Keyser.
Survivors include: daughter, Chassie Craft Lewis; grandchildren; Christian Sanderford; Hanna Lewis; Summer Lewis and Addison Lewis all of Pearl; 2 great grandchildren; nieces, Robin Piotrowski and family of Cincinnati, OH; Linda Duckworth and family of Monroe, LA; and nephew, Chad Jones and family of Corinth.
